A Responsible Path to Net-Zero Production
Film and television productions consume enormous amounts of energy, fuel, transportation, equipment, and resources. Like every industry, we leave an environmental footprint. We believe the first step toward reducing that impact is measuring it honestly.
Atlantic Media Group has partnered with the Well Done Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to permanently plugging abandoned and orphaned oil and gas wells that release methane into the atmosphere. By eliminating emissions at their source, these projects create an immediate and measurable environmental benefit. Learn more about the Well Done Foundation at www.welldonefoundation.org.
The first graphic below illustrates the complete pathway. Productions measure their emissions, support well-capping projects, receive carbon credits after the work is completed, and retire those credits against their measured footprint. Only then can a production legitimately claim to be net-zero.
The second graphic introduces our Production Impact Scale, a planning tool we developed to help producers estimate a project’s environmental impact before production begins. It makes sustainability part of the budgeting process, allowing productions to plan for environmental responsibility from day one.
This initiative is built on a simple principle: measure your footprint, reduce what you can, and take responsibility for what remains.
We hope this framework helps move the industry beyond environmental promises and toward measurable action.
